Children between 10 and 15 years old from fourteen nations will compete in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010, to be held on 20th November in Minsk, Belarus. Moldova is represented for the first time, Lithuanian broadcaster LRT, Latvian broadcaster LTV and Swedish broadcaster SVT return.

Apart from host broadcaster BTRC from Belarus, broadcasters from Armenia (AMPTV), Belgium (VRT), FYR Macedonia (MKRTV), Georgia (GEGT), Latvia (LTV), Lithuania (LRT), Malta (PBS), Moldova (TRM), the Netherlands (AVRO), Russia (RTR), Serbia (RTS), Sweden (SVT) and Ukraine (NTU) signed up for the eighth edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Last year, thirteen ations were represented at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. Ralf Mackenbach from the Netherlands won with his song Click Clack. Unlike the Eurovision Song Contest, where the winning country hosts the next event, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is being awarded through a bid procedure. Belarusian broadcaster BTRC was awarded the competition in the summer of 2009.
