The microstate Liechtenstein wants to debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011. The national broadcaster 1FLTV (1. Fürstendum Liechtenstein Television) applied for membership of the European Broadcasting Union, 1FLTV Director Peter Heeb told local newspaper Vaterland Liechtenstein.

Children between 10 and 15 years old from fourteen nations will compete in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010, to be held on 20th November in Minsk, Belarus. Moldova is represented for the first time, Lithuanian broadcaster LRT, Latvian broadcaster LTV and Swedish broadcaster SVT return.

Pop singer Mika is being lined up to write the next UK entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, according to British newspaper The Sun. "Mika has all the right ingredients to make a successful song," a BBC source told. "We hope he says yes." The UK finished last with Josh Dubovie in this year's final.
