The MySpace voting has determined the five best scoring candidates in the ten categories of the Spanish selections for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. The twenty songs which scored the most votes on the whole, qualified directly for the live shows. A jury will determine the ten other candidates.

The Greek national final in which Sakis Rouvas will present three songs will be held on 18th February in the Athinon Arena in Athens, Greek broadcaster ERT confirmed our colleagues of Esctoday.com. Just like last year, the show will be hosted by the Maggira sisters. The audience and televoting will pick the Greek song for Moscow.

63 artists bid for representing Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. On 7th and 8th February 30 of them will take part in the semifinals. 15 songs will qualify for the Ukrainian national final that will most probably take place on 1st March. Petr Elfimov will represent Belarus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow. Elfimov won the final of EuroFest 2009 with the song Eyes That Never Lie. He defeated Gunesh who finished second with Fantastic Girl. Litesound ft. Dakota finished third. Veter v Golove became fourth and Domenika fifth.

Portuguese broadcaster RTP has announced the 24 songs that still stand a chance to reach the Festival da Canção 2009 on 27th February. This week you can vote for your favourite songs on RTP's website. The 12 most popular songs will be selected for the Festival da Canção 2009 in Portugal.

Cypriot broadcaster CyBC has revealed the ten finalists for the Cypriot national final to be broadcast on 7th February. The 10 entries were chosen out of 74 submitted songs, Cypriot broadcaster CyBC informed Eurovision.tv. Two former Eurovision participants take part: Marlain Angelidou and Alex Panayi.

In Life & Cooking on RTL the Toppers sang short pieces of the six songs out of which the Dutch audience will select the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 on Sunday 1st February. Because Jeroen, René and Gordon sang a piece of Everybody Can Be A Star, they were obliged to sing the five other songs too.

Tonight at 20:50 CET the final of EuroFest 2009 takes place in Belarus. Five artists qualified for tonight's Belarusian national final in the semifinal held on 15th December. The pop rock band Lovebugs will represent Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow. According to Swiss newspaper Blick the band was internally selected by the Swiss broadcasters. Lovebugs celebrates its fifteenth anniversary and releases its tenth album The Highest Heights next week.

"Hadise is good and she has a great voice," Andrew Lloyd Webber said after hearing Düm Tek Tek, the Turkish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. The song was presented to the British audience during the second heat of Eurovision: Your Country Needs You, in which Charlotte Finlay-Tribe got eliminated.

At 20:00 CET tonight the second heat of Dainų Daina - the new Lithuanian selections for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 - takes place. Aysel Teymurzade will represent Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow. A seven-member jury of national broadcaster ITV internally selected the 19-year old singer out of 40 candidates who took part in the audition rounds in October last year. Aysel's song still has to be chosen.

Macedonian broadcaster MKRTV has announced the participants list for Skopje Fest 2009, this year's Macedonian selections for the Eurovision Song Contest. The 32 acts will be spread over two semifinals to be held on 19th and 20th February. On 21st February the Macedonian representative for Moscow will be chosen.

Swedish broadcaster SVT has revealed the running order for Melodifestivalen 2009. Nina Söderquist opens the first heat on 7th February with her song Tick Tock. Malena Ernman is the very last candidate in the last heat of the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest selections with the song La Voix.

In tonight's Passaport A Moscou on Andorran television, Danish singer Susanna Georgi was the first of three candidates to present her song for the Andorran national selections for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. The English song Get A Life got mainly Catalan lyrics and is now called La Teva Decisió.

Last Friday Natalia recorded a video clip for her brand new single called All Or Nothing. The song also is the theme song of the movie Spion Van Oranje with Paul De Leeuw in the leading part. Watch the video clip below. Meanwhile, Natalia traveled to Canterbury again to finish her upcoming album.

Several countries initially announced not to take part in the 54th Eurovision Song Contest, but the EBU made a successful effort to keep them in the competition. The restyled Eurovision.tv announced the complete participants list for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 tonight. Just like in Belgrade, 43 countries will take part in Moscow. San Marino withdrew. Slovakia makes a comeback. In spite of their earlier intentions to withdraw, Georgia and Latvia will also be present.

Rock band Regina will represent Bosnia & Herzegovina in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow. Regina was internally selected by national broadcaster BHRT. Regina will present their song for Moscow to the audience on 1st March. The song is called Bistra Voda and was written by Aleksandar Čović.
