On Sunday 20th September Romania selects its representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009. Romanian broadcaster TVR selected fifteen candidates for participation in the Romanian national final. Their songs can be heard on TVR's Junior Eurovision Song Contest website: www.tvr.ro/jesc.

This weekend the biggest free music festival of Belgium Maanrock takes place in Mechelen. Former Eurovision participants Hadise and Kate Ryan perform on the side stage on the IJzerenleen on Saturday. On Sunday Bab and Oliver from Junior Eurosong and Sandrine perform on the main stage at the market square.

Fairytale of Alexander Rybak has become one of the bigger Eurovision Song Contest hits since the start of the official Ultratop chart in Flanders. The singer from Norway scored the first number one Eurovision hit since Ruslana's Wild Dances in 2004, but Fairytale charted in Flanders for a relatively short time.

Hadise with Fast Life and Natalia with Feeling are still in the top of the Ultratip 30 but have difficulties with reachin the list with the 50 best selling singles in Flanders. Agnes Carlsson and Kathleen have left the Ultratop 50 with their hit singles Release Me and Zumba Yade.

Norwegian singer Alexander Rybak has released his album Fairytales in France. For an extra track on the album Rybak recorded a partly French version of Fairytale, his winning song of the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow. Discover the French version of the song Fairytale below.

One week earlier than scheduled the candidates of Junior Eurosong 2009 have been revealed. The twelve candidates - Manou, Tune, Haruka, Kiviv, Sepp 'n Sigi, Las Niñas, Thomas, Anke, Pjotr, Laura, T&T and Margo - all recorded two versions of their song. They will be released on a compilation album on 7th September.

Due to a mistake at internet shop Amazon Belgovision.com and everyone who ended up on the page concerned could see the names of the twelve candidates selected for Junior Eurosong 2009 and listen to their songs. Yesterday the names of the Junior Eurosong participants leaked on fansites. Eén confirms the lists.

Popular Turkish singer Tarkan has signed an intention agreement with Turkish broadcaster TRT to represent Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo next year, several Turkish media report. Tarkan is internationally known thanks to the world hit Şımarık that he scored in 1997.

Last Monday Tanja Dexters, Elisa Guarraci, Nelly Marie Bojahr and Jasmine Sendar visited the Q-Beachhouse in Oostende. The four celbrities from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands who released their first single as Jameerah this summer performed their hit All Eyes On Me live and acoustic.

Flemish singer Snazz has released a new single. Brand New Feeling sounds familiar to the ears of Eurovision Song Contest fans. The song written by Mark Paelinck, Mihai Alexandru and Jamie Winchester competed in the national selections for the Eurovision Song Contest in Romania in 2006 sung by Dora.

Fast Life, the follow-up single of Düm Tek Tek, has been charting in the Ultratip 30 for several weeks. Hadise is close to reaching the Ultratop 50, the chart with the 50 best selling singles in Flanders. In order to promote her new single, Hadise sang an acoustic version of Fast Life in Villa Vanthilt on Eén.

Katerine Avgoustakis is this week's second highest newcomer in the Ultratop 50 in Flanders with Treat Me Like A Lady. The second track on the single is her international summer hit Ayo Technology. Teen band Alright also enters the Ultratop. Alexander Rybak left the charts with his Fairytale for the second time.

On Thursday evening Kate Ryan performed on the beach in Oostende. During her exclusive Q-Music Sunset Concert Kate Ryan sang some of her biggest hits, including Voyage Voyage, UR My Love, Je T'Adore, La Promesse, Ella Elle L'a, Désenchantée and Driving Away. Polish broadcaster TVP has revealed the viewing figures of last weekend's Sopot Hit Festiwal 2009. No less than 3.009.000 spectators tuned in for the international competition on Saturday night, won by Belgian singer Katerine Avgoustakis. The show became the most watched televison programme of this summer.

Eén presented its autumn programme schedule today. Junior Eurosong 2009, in which the Belgian representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be chosen, will play an important role in September. Junior Eurosong 2009 kicks off on 5th September. On 27th August the twelve candidates will be announced.

Some Belgian artists score better abroad than in Belgium. Annemie Coenen aka AnnaGrace knows all about it ever since Ian Van Dahl broke through in America. Ameerah - former Eurosong participant Astrid Roelants - also scores in America. The Sound Of Missing You climbs to nr 8 in the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay chart.

On Sunday 13th September BBC's Radio 2 organizes an ABBA tribute concert in London's Hyde Park. 'Thank You For The Music: A Celebration Of The Music of ABBA' will be presented by Chris Evans and broadcast live on Radio 2. The first wave of glittering artists who will perform at the concert have now been revealed.

Because of the bad weather the Q-Music Sunset Concert of Kate Ryan on the beach of Oostende was postponed tonight. If you want to see Kate Ryan live and acoustic, you get a second chance on Thursday evening at 20:00 CET. Kate Ryan stayed insided the Q-Music Beach House tonight and gave an interview instead.

Ukrainian broadcaster NTU has presented the logo of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009. The seventh edition of the song contest for children will be held at the Palats Sportu in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, on Saturday 21st November. The recordings of Hit The Road are a big success every week, but on television the show does not attract a big audience yet. Tonight, VTM airs the emission that was recorded in Tielt last Monday. VTM also announced the first names for the next two recordings of Hit The Road in Willebroek and Maaseik.

Tonight at 21:00 CET, when the sun goes down in Oostende, the fifth Q-Music Sunset Concert of this summer kicks off on the stage located next to the Q-Beach House on the beach of Oostende. After Sylver, VanVelzen, Milk Inc. and Natalia it is Kate Ryan's turn to perform her biggest hits live on the Q-Music stage.

Although it's almost half August, Flemish broadcaster VRT still hasn't announced its plans for Eurosong 2010, the Belgian selections for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. According to Flemish newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws VRT is considering big changes and an internal selection of a candidate for Oslo.

While the Radio 2 Zomerhit Awards were handed out in Belgium, Belgian singer Katerine Avgoustakis won the international summer hit award in Poland with her song Ayo Technology. Together with Stefanie Heinzmann and Inna, who also finished in the top 3 of the Sopot Hit Festiwal, Katerine awaited the audience's verdict.

Katerine has won the international summer hit 'Zagraniczny Hit Lata 2009' trophy with her hit single Ayo Technology. In the Sopot Hit Festiwal in the Polish city of Sopot Katerine defeated fourteen other artists including Danzel, Agnes Carlsson from Sweden and Queensberry from Germany.

More Radio 2 Zomerhit Awards have been handed out tonight. The summer hit award for the best song went to Zoals In Dat Liedje by Eva De Roovere. The award for the best performer went to Natalia. But the biggest winner of the night is Lady Linn. She won the Radio 2 Zomerhit 2009 Award with I Don't Wanna Dance.
