From 1st until 30th October 2010 artists can present their songs for the Swiss selections for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 on www.eurovision.sf.tv. Following the EBU's regulations, performers, lyricists and composers do not need to be Swiss citizens or even resident in Switzerland.

Following the change of the 1 October rule into the 1 September rule, Belgian broadcaster RTBF decided to start the selections for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 earlier than planned. RTBF in collaboration with Akamusic will launch a website on which all candidates can upload their entries on 20th September.

Freaky Like Me is the new international single of Ameerah. The Flemish singer releases the song in cooperation with Madcon, the Norwegian group that performed during the interval act of this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Freaky Like Me was produced by Sha DreamRoc'a and Tjeerd TJ Oosterhuis.

Anna Bergendahl, the Swedish representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo, has released a new single. Watch the video clip of The Army below. The winner of Melodifestivalen 2010 failed to qualify Sweden for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song This Is My Life.

Svante Stockselius (54), Executive Supervisor of the Junior- and Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the EBU since 2003, has decided to resign from his position at the end of 2010. The upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be the 26th and last Eurovision event under his supervision.

Ameerah almost succeeded Katerine as winner of the Zagraniczny Hit Lata 2010, the international summer hit, at the Hit Festiwal in Poland. Ameerah's The Sound Of Missing You finished third in the top 3 with 30.93% of the votes. Tom Boxer came second with Morena (34.29%). Safri Duo won with Helele (34.78%).

24 countries will take part in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Germany next year: the Big Four countries, including host country Germany, ten qualifiers from the first and ten qualifiers from the second semifinal. The number of finalists was approved at the Reference Group meeting in Belgrade.

At the meeting of the Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group in Belgrade, the change of the 1st October into the 1st September rule has been approved. The news spread by several fan sites that the change had been rejectedwas false. Belgian broadcaster RTBF was one of the demanding broadcasters.

Allez Ola Olé by Jessy Matador, this year's French Eurovision entry, has been chosen by the listeners of MNM as the hottest summer hit ever. The song is number one in De Heetste 100, by Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) by Shakira ft. Freshlyground and Bailando by Paradisio.

Lena Meyer-Landrut is the fifth best scoring Eurovision Song Contest winner in the history of the Ultratop 50. Satellite reached the fourth place in the charts and charted for twelve weeks, one week longer than last year's winner Alexander Rybak did with Fairytale. However, he topped the single charts.

Katerine Avgoustakis is the guest star on the first night of the Bydgoszcz Hit Festiwal 2010. Tonight Poland chooses the national summer hit of the year. In the international competition, won by Katerine Avgoustakis with the song Ayo Technology in Sopot last year, Belgium is represented by Ameerah tomorrow.

Lucy, the new single of Tom Dice, makes it first appearance in the Ultratop 50 in Flanders by entering at number 45, while Me And My Guitar dropped to number 46. Jessy Matador is still the best scoring Eurovision artist and also re-enters the charts in Wallonia. Lena Meyer-Landrut left them with Satellite.

Moldovan broadcaster TRM has announced the names of the twelve candidates who will compete in the Moldovan national final for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010 that will be held on 20th November in the Minsk Arena in Minsk. The twelve songs can be heard on TRM's website www.trm.md.

The Belgian selections for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 will start on 1st October. RTBF in collaboration with Akamusic will then launch a website on which all candidates can upload their entries. RTBF wanted to start the selections in May already, but was stopped by the European Broadcasting Union.
