A couple of hours before she was presented in the talk show Van Gils & Gasten, Laura Groeseneken was introduced to the press as the Belgian representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon. Laura Groeseneken, Belgian candidate for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, is a young singer-songwriter from Leuven. Born in 1990 and experienced after having worked on various music projects. Since 2014, Laura has been playing and singing with Ozark Henry. With him Laura has performed at major national and international stages in recent years.

28.09.17 . Laura Groeseneken to Eurovision Song Contest 2018
Belgium is the first country with a representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon. Peter Van de Veire revealed in the daily talk show Van Gils & Gasten that Laura Groeseneken was internally selected. Together with broadcaster VRT Laura will now focus on on finding the perfect song and act for Eurovision.

25.07.17 . Eurovision 2018 at MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal
The EBU and Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP) have revealed the host city of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018: Lisbon! The capital of Portugal with its MEO Arena in the Parque das Nações defeated Braga, Gondomar, Guimarães and Santa Maria da Feira in a bid. The Semi-Finals will take place on 8th and 10th May, the Grand Final on Saturday 12th May.

Ever since VRT announced to internally select the artist to represent Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Portugal, several Flemish artists have shown their interest. Among them Natalia, Belle Perez, Kate Ryan, Gene Thomas and Isabelle A. Earlier Ozark Henry and De Romeo's also expressed their interest in singing for Belgium to GVA.

Salvador Vilar Braamcamp Sobral from Portugal has won the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with Amar Pelos Dois. The Portuguese singer with a bit of Dutch blood gave a first reaction to Eurovision.tv after winning the final in Kyiv. Amar Pelos Dois was written by the sister of Salvador, Luísa Sobral. 14.05.17 . Blanche wakes up with world hit after Eurovision 2017
A couple of hours after the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 City Lights can be found in the iTunes charts of 33 countries. All over Europe, but even in Peru, Cambodia and Australia. In Sweden and Estonia, where Blanche won the televoting last night, City Lights hits number 1. Blanche scores the biggest hit after Amar Pelos Dois of winner Salvador Sobral.

14.05.17 . Juries severe for Blanche, no televotes from Georgia
Blanche finished fourth in the televoting of the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with 255 points from 40 countries and four 12 points. Georgia was the only country not voting for Belgium. City Lights was much less popular in the jury vote, where it came ninth and received only 108 points from 21 countries and only one 12 points.

14.05.17 . Belgium's Blanche fourth in first Eurovision semifinal
Last Tuesday Blanche from Belgium finished fourth in the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with 165 points. That was thanks to the third place in the televoting with 125 points. The juries ranked City Lights only thirteenth with 40 points! Portugal won the first semifinal ahead of Moldova and Sweden.

14.05.17 . Belgian televote goes Portugal, jury favors Sweden
The Belgian viewers of the Eurovision Song Contest have supported Portugal the most. Salvador Sobral received 12 points for his song Amar Pelos Dois both in the first semifinal and in the final from the Belgian televoting. The Belgian jury was more into Sweden, giving the 12 points to Robin Bengtsson with I Can't Go On on Tuesday and Saturday.

Salvador Sobral from Portugal has won the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with Amar Pelos Dois. Bulgaria finished second with Kristian Kostov and Beautiful Mess. Moldova finished third with Sunstroke Project and Hey Mamma. Blanche ended fourth: only ninth with the juries, but fourth in the televoting.

Blanche was the 23rd act in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiyv. Blanche sang City Lights, a song written by Pierre Dumoulin, in a black dress designed by Johanne Riss.
