On 7th and 8th August the Polish summer hit of the year will be selected during the Sopot Hit Festiwal 2009. Fifteen Polish and fifteen international artists including Belgian singers Katerine Avgoustakis with Ayo Technology and Danzel with Walking On Sunshine have been selected for the festival.

Tonight at 20:00 CET Udo hosts the first emission of Hit The Road, the new music show on VTM. Among others Nelson, Tanja Dexters and her new girl band Jameerah, former K3 singer Kathleen, Kate Ryan and Christoff will take the stage. Brahim and Clouseau will bring a tribute to Michael Jackson and Yasmine.

The first edition of the Asiavision Song Contest, the Asian brother of the Eurovision Song Contest, was postponed until March 2010. Thirteen countries - Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam - are expected to take part.

On Thursday evening Kate Ryan presented her new summer hit Babacar live in Villa Vanthilt on Eén. Kate is heading for a very busy summer with more than 30 live shows in Belgium, Poland, Spain, Germany, Latvia, Sweden and Denmark. Watch the live performance of Kate Ryan in Villa Vanthilt below.

Christoff is scoring a top 10 hit in Flanders again. He climbs to the ninth position in the Ultratop 50 with the song Miljonair. Babacar, the new summer single of Kate Ryan, rises to the eighteenth place. Agnes, Hadise and Alexander Rybak all have to give in a couple of position in the charts.

Belgian singer and TV host Yasmine (real name Hilde Rens) committed suicide. She recently saw her lesbian relationship with Marianne Dupon come to an end. Yasmine hosted popular tv shows like Tien Om Te Zien, Zo Is Er Maar Eén and De Rode Loper. In 2006 she announced the Belgian Eurovision Song Contest votes.

Together with her director Senol Korkmaz Turkish Eurovision Song Contest representative Hadise recorded a video clip for her new single Fast Life in Istanbul last weekend. Fast Life - also the title of the latest Hadise album - is one of the biggest video clip projects in the history of EMI Belgium. Watch a preview below.

Christoff wants to conquer the German market this summer. The Flemish schlager singer made his first German tv appearance last weekend in Sommerfest der Volksmusik at the Bördelandhalle in Magdeburg. Christoff sang Deine blauen Augen, the German version of his Flemish hit Als Ik In Je Blauwe Ogen Kijk.

Also this year OGAE organizes a Second Chance Contest for the songs that failed to reach the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow. Because of the internal selections of Copycat, Belgium had no lucky loser, but OGAE clubs from twenty other countries did select a candidate for the Second Chance Contest 2009.

All Eyes On Me, the first single of Jameerah, has been released in Belgium. The new international girl band of Tanja Dexters, Elisa Guarraci, Jasmine Sendar and Nelly Bojahr was presented to the international press at an exclusive party in Cannes last month. For a photo shoot the girls flew to Brazil.

Kahraman is the title of the brand new Turkish album of Hadise. Kahraman also is the title of the Turkish version of the song Hero that appeared on Hadise's latest English album Fast Life that was released in Belgium last month. Kahraman features thirteen songs, one of which her Eurovision song Düm Tek Tek.
